Behind-the-Scenes

Scooping Out Kiwi is Such Fun!

The sun has been out to play for the past two days and I am loving it!

Went out to good ol'Tesco and got some fruit and veg for my new project- Healthier Living. Notice how I said healthier living lol. I decided to try out this green smoothie that people have been harping on about for what seems like years but really only about 6 months maybe? Well, that's when the news reached my ears/eyes anyways.

So yes, healthier living. I popped into Tesco and decided to get some fruit and veg and somehow a garlic baguette fell into the basket as well. I opted to get it since it made the effort to get into my basket in the first place ;)

It tasted sooo good... if you were wondering.

Now, you might be thinking that I have already failed this project but I say different. There is no way I am chucking out good food like jollof rice, fried rice, real egusi soup, garlic bread etc from my healthier life that's for sure :D

Anyways, the "good" stuff that managed to squeeze into my basket as well were :

a packet of kiwi
a bag of apples
spinach
broccoli

And when you put all of that (plus water!) in a blender (mine's called Betty) you could get this:
Apologies for the fuzziness of the photos

I know presentation is key but I had already gulped down a mouthful when I took this lol
I have never ever scooped out a kiwi before but my goodness was it fun! I know that may make me sound slightly sad...but at least I was having fun whilst I chugged down a glass full of green-ness. It tasted too earthy for my delicate unhealthy taste buds so I added a teaspoon of honey and that definitely did the trick :D

Will I keep this up? Doubtful. But at least I can't get told off for not trying ;-). Will let you know if this turns into a daily affair.

Till next time!

Luv, Mo xx

P.S. Apparently, to stop bits of veg and fruit floating (insoluble fiber) around in water and to have a creamier smoothie, one must add things that have soluble fiber within it to one's smoothie- kiwi, bananas, pears, mango are some  ingredients that do...so I am told...by the internet :D

Happy smoothie-ing!
