ON THE EDGE: FILM || VOL. 9

October - my favourite month of the year - is here (!!) and has brought with it a stellar film line up. Although my cold, work and a bunch of other life events have prevented me from properly reacquainting myself with the layout of my local cinemas, you will find below a few films that have me lying on the edge of my bed in anticipation to roll into a cinema to see them.

MACBETH

You just know that when Marion Cotillard or Michael Fassbender sign on to do a project, it is bound to be one riddled with intrigue, suspense, raised-eyebrow moments and enlightenment. And so when a project attracts both of their attention, it is not one to miss. Macbeth is a film adaptation of one of Shakespeare's famous work and was released here in the UK on the 2nd of October. Here is the trailer if you you want to know more about this particular version of the dark but fascinating tale.

SICARIO

I am not sure what to expect from Sicario. I know is some sort of crime drama (if you know me well, you know I am a fan of this genre) and it has Emily Blunt in it - it appears she has taken on a role I have not seen her play before and I cannot wait to see her performance in this.  Sicario came out on the 8th of October and you can watch the trailer here to find out a bit more about it.

SUFFRAGETTE

I think it is quite self explanatory why I want to see Suffragette. I was so hoping it would come out on my birthday but it came out a day before (12th of October) so I cannot really complain. Click here to watch the trailer and learn a little more about this particular story about fighting for one's rights. And if you have seen it already, do let me know what you think of it.

THE INTERN

I honestly thought The Intern had come out already and was so surprised to find that I had not missed the boat like I had originally thought. Looking back to the time when I first saw Anne Hathaway in Princess Diaries, it is so cool to see how she has evolved as an actress. This seems to be one of those films you watch when you want a little nudge in the direction of self-motivation to get stuff done whilst recognising the realities and wonders of the world. It came out on the 2nd of October as well; you can check out the trailer here.

And that is my current main list of movies I would love to see at the cinema this month. There are of course some honourable mentions I'd like to give: Crimson Peak (16th October) starring Jessica Chastain, Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska;  Regression (9th October) starring Emma Watson and Ethan Hawke; Spectre (26/30th October) starring Monica Bellucci, Daniel Craig and Ralph Fiennes; and The Last Witch Hunter (23rd October) starring Vin Diesel and Elijah Wood. Let's see which ones I am able to squeeze into my schedule. I am seeing Macbeth tomorrow so that is already one down; I wonder which film I will tackle next...
