HANSEL AND GRETEL: WITCH HUNTERS

[source of pic]

Right, last Saturday I went to the cinema to go see Hansel and Gretel with two friends of mine as part of our "Haven't seen you this year" catch-up sessions. I honestly do not know what I was expecting this movie to be about but I can tell that I wasn't expecting the series of events within the movie that's for sure. Here are a couple  words that could be used to describe my reaction:

Shock...

Fear...

Yep, those were the dominant states of mind I was in throughout the movie. Now, don't get me wrong, the movie wasn't terrible. It was actually quite good. I just can't handle gory movies. Some may say I'm a wimp.

*shrugs shoulders*

What did help me out though was the fact that they were using modern terminology for a movie set back in the day. That made it a little less real lol.

You would've thought the title would have given it away but no, I was still petrified. The witches were no Hermione Granger I can tell you that much!

Jeremy Renner (Avengers; The Bourne Legacy) and Gemma Arterton (Prince of Persia; Quantum of Solace) star in this movie as Hansel and Gretel respectively.  Famke Janssen (X-Men 1, 2 and 3) also makes an appearance as a respected witch in the evil witch community lol. The movie is basically a story about Hansel and Gretel with an almighty twist; they have grown up to be bounty hunters and their prey is any witch that breathes.

The movie is quite funny as well as a tad bit scary. I personally won't be able to watch this in 3D as that will be way too much for me. If you are looking for something to watch to take your mind off your current situation this movie will definitely do that for you lol.

Till next time!

Luv, Mo
